Our orthotic designs were developed by renowned podiatrist, Frank J. Santopietro D.P.M. who currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of EvenKeel in conjunction with his continued service to patients in his vibrant Brookline, MA podiatric practice, EvenKeel | Podiatry.Frank_Color_BWBackground2

Dr. Santopietro has devoted over 40 years of clinical practice to the care of his patients with an emphasis on a conservative biomechanical approach. Though Dr. Santopietro is a talented board-licensed podiatric surgeon, his philosophy has placed surgery as a measure of last resort. He has chosen to perfect the design and application of his custom orthotics through over 30 years of clinical research and development. A satisfied and ever expanding patient population is a testament to the efficacy of his conservative treatment plan and application of his novel orthotic design.

Innovation towards improved outcomes has been the hallmark of Dr. Santopietro’s practice which has garnered the patronage of leading institutions, elite athletes and shoe manufacturers. His persistent focus on applying biomechanical theory to therapeutic interventions has fostered a long list of professional relationships that validate his method.

Dr. Santopietro has served as the podiatrist for the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans NFL franchises. At the collegiate level he has served as the podiatrist for Boston College Eagles and the Providence College Friars. He has served as a consultant to the Boston Ballet and the athletic departments of Brown University and Emmanuel College. He has also served as the medical director of the Ocean State Marathon for 7 years.

His biomechanical expertise has led to his collaboration with shoe companies; Nike, Converse and Saucony. His work with Saucony as a designer resulted the development of shoe models used throughout the industry. His designs include the Saucony Jazz running shoe and outsole design; the Dixon, which featured the first rear foot stabilization device; and the Freedom Trainer; which featured the first two-density progressive pronation midsole.

In addition Dr. Santopietro is the former Chief of Podiatry at Children’s hospital in the Division of Sports Medicine and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Family Medicine at Brown University.
